Jonathan Turpin and Mikel Hawks put up impressive statistics in 2011 as the George Wythe High School football team completed a perfect regular season and claimed the Hogoheegee District championship.

The duo will try to find more success at the next level.

A rugged fullback/linebacker, Turpin signed with Glenville State, a NCAA Division II school in West Virginia, on Wednesday in a signing ceremony in the GW library. Turpin rushed for 1,096 yards and made 54 solo tackles this past season.

Hawks, perhaps the most decorated kicker in school history, will sign with the fledgling NAIA program at Bluefield College today. Hawks made 61 extra points and four field goals this past season.
