WYTHEVILLE -- Regular-season champion Chilhowie took the team title, while Holston's Aaron Deel won the individual championship Tuesday in the Hogoheegee District golf tournament at Wytheville Golf Club. Deel won a one-hole playoff against Chilhowie's Conner Hayden after both golfers shot a 7-over-par 77 in windy conditions. Chilhowie's team score of 344 was 16 strokes better than runner-up George Wythe. Both teams qualified for Monday's Region C tournament in Hillsville. Individual qualifiers were Logan McGinnis, Blake Sholes and Josh Compton of Patrick Henry-Glade Spring, along with Deel, Northwood's Sean Yarber and Rural Retreat's Zak Holmes.
