MARION, Va. --
A 24-yard touchdown run by Chilhowie’s Brett Johnson with 1:55 left in the third quarter snapped a scoreless tie as the Warriors went on to take a 14-0 victory over Smyth County rival Marion on Friday night.
Aaron Conley tacked on a touchdown run in the fourth quarter for the Warriors, who dominated the second half. Daniel Ashby led Chilhowie on D as the Warriors limited the Scarlet Hurricanes to just 152 yards of total offense.

MARION -- Chilhowie (1-0) limited Marion (0-1) to 143 total yards of offense and got rushing touchdowns from Brett Johnson and Aaron Conley in the 14-0 road victory. Johnson scored the game's first touchdown on a 24-yard run in the third quarter with Conley adding a 6-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth period. Conley finished the game with 49 yards rushing on 16 attempts and Johnson with 45 yards rushing on 15 attempts. Marion did not record any passing yardage, going 0-for-7 with two interceptions. Ethan Richardson finished with 17 carries for 100 yards for the Scarlet Hurricane.
