WYTHEVILLE -- Johnse Hatfield rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries to lead the Pioneers (4-1).

Will Freeman ran for 119 yards on 14 carries for the Pioneers.

With his team down 16-14, Mikel Hawks of the Maroons (2-3) was wide left on a 43-yard field-goal attempt with 52 seconds remaining.

The Maroons' Alex Willis ran for a TD and threw for another.

George Wythe scored 14 points in the fourth quarter but it was not enough as Fort Chiswell took a non-district win.

The Maroons had a chance to take the lead with 52 seconds left in the game but missed a 43-yard field goal.

Fort Chiswell (5-1) took a 7-0 first-quarter lead and led after three quarters 13-0 before Alex Willis put GW on the board on a 1-yard run.

Tanner Price led the Maroons on the ground with 81 yards on 11 carries. Will Freeman led Fort Chiswell with 119 yards on 14 carries
