 GALAX -- Galax (8-3) racked up 524 yards of total offense, including 367 yards rushing in a 55-21 Region C Division I playoff win over Rural Retreat (4-7).
Jerad Brown rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries, while Jordan Vaughn had 119 yards and two TDs on 15 rushing attempts for the Maroon Tide. Vaughn also had one of two Galax interceptions, with Juan Ruiz adding the other.
Travis Fisher scored three rushing touchdowns for Galax, also gaining 50 yards on eight carries.
Zayne Williams went 8-for-14 for 170 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions for Rural Retreat, which got 113 rushing yards on 17 carries from Travis Anderson. Lukas Langston added a 65-yard interception return for a TD for Rural Retreat.
